Secluded 4 bedroom hideaway

Relaxing and comfortable, our four-season Chalet Cook Cottage is nestled in the woods in Point Comfort, Quebec. Peaceful and tranquil, this secluded hideaway sits in unspoiled wilderness less than 90 minutes’ drive from Ottawa. A 100′ deck overlooks the lake, and inside, you’ll find four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, full kitchen, dining room, living room and family room.

Stunning lake views

Enjoy a panoramic view of Lac Ste Laurent from our 100 foot long deck. The glass bannister offers an uninterupted view of the lake’s expanse, our floating dock and swimming raft. Toast in the sunshine in one of many Adairondack chairs or kick back in the shade under the umbrella. We’ll leave you to negotiate who gets the hammock when, and for how long.

Floating dock and swimming raft

Morning coffee on our floating dock? With the breeze coming off the water, and occasional fish jump and if you’re lucky – a loon call? Heavenly.

Or perhaps yoga on the deck while others drink coffee on the dock. Options, options…

Our swimming bay is not deep – so shallow dives off our dock only please! Swim, kayak or canoe out to our raft and toast in the sun.

Kayaks, canoe and row boat

We offer two adult sized kayaks and one child-sized one. You’ll also find our grandfather’s row boat and our canoe, all ready for you.

Paddles, life jackets and oars are stored under the deck.

Although we no longer have the windsurfer sails, we do have two windsurfer boards as well, great for paddling kids around the bay.

Finally, in case paddling seems a bit strenuous, you’ll also find our floating lawn chair, with drink holders waiting patiently for your arrival.

Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing

In winter, step outside the basement family room and head to the woods or across the lake with snowshoes or cross-country skis. Didn’t bring yours? The Cook family welcomes you to borrow a pair.

Trampoline vs Hammock

If you need the kids – or the big kids – to burn some energy while you fix your next drink, send them out to the trampoline.

While they’re working hard, you can score the hammock for a nap.

If you’ve got folks with time on their hands, set them up with our telescope for a little star gazing.

Ping pong, air hockey and mini pool

We can’t tell you the number of competitive ping pong games that have been played in our basements. As with all world-class sporting events, the shouts of triumph inspire and painful bellows of defeat simply hurt.
